Title: Priceless
Logline: Personhood, Protection, and Pride for Gender Expansive Youth
Synopsis:
The media and political discourse focus on the illusory danger of impulsive medical care; but in truth, accessing gender-affirming care is a far more nuanced experience for LGBTQ+ youth. The Free to Be Youth Project’s (FYP) upcoming docuseries, “Priceless” explores an expansive meaning of gender-affirming care, from the perspective of unhoused and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth and legal advocates in NYC. It articulates that for this demographic, fashion, makeup, and haircare are neither optional nor frivolous expenses, they are vital for survival.
If you feel passionate about this documentary filmmaking project and possess some or all of these skills, we encourage you to apply by emailing mtorre@urbanjustice.org with a resume and project sample.
