This Giving Tuesday, the Free to Be Youth Project is partnering with the Oasis Center, the only queer centered youth crisis intervention center in Tennessee, to bridge the gap between urban and rural queer advocacy.

Just Us is a collection of programs at the Oasis Center dedicated to helping LGBTQ+ youth achieve their full potential with an array of services centered on support and advocacy.

In 2022, Tennessee enacted a law to limit classroom materials, resulting in a book ban that removed more than 1100 books from school libraries. In the wake of this on-going ban, FYP is dedicated to supporting queer and questioning youth by providing access to some of these banned books.

Our Giving Tuesday campaign comes at a pivotal moment as the Supreme Court is set to hear arguments on December 4 about access to gender-affirming care for minors in Tennessee.

Each package we send to the Oasis Center will include books by, and about, LGBTQ+ youth, and gender-affirming cosmetics. After Giving Tuesday & Beyond

Giving Tuesday is not the end of our efforts to build a bridge rural and urban queer advocacy. We hope to continue this with

• Accessible and interactive Goodreads discussion boards
• Monthly virtual book club to foster community between LGBTQ+ youth
• Continued efforts to donate needed resources and support
